Sakuma Hoyu Shoin is a calligraphy school in Koganei City, Tokyo, where Hoyu Sakuma serves as a teacher. As a school where students can easily experience Japanese culture, we enjoy having both domestic students and overseas guests.
We also offer “Online Tablet Calligraphy Classes” for those who have difficulty visiting Japan or who wish to learn calligraphy while abroad, both in Japan and abroad. Online instructors with 15 years of experience provide detailed instruction. Please be assured that English will be available for overseas students.

I have been practicing calligraphy since the second grade of elementary school and have been a Kousoukai Shihan for 17 years. 2023, I was recognized as a Mainichi Shodo Exhibition Kana Club Friend. Using the English skills I learned as a university major, I share the joy of calligraphy not only with Japanese students, but also with non-Japanese people.
